🌍 Earth Day Every Day: Designing for a Better Tomorrow
We remain steadfast in our mission to design buildings that do more—more for the environment, more for people, and more for the future. We’re proud to work alongside visionary clients and partners who share this commitment, and we’ll continue pushing toward greener, healthier communities through design.
We approach every project through the lens of wellness and sustainability—whether it’s a large-scale educational facility, a workplace transformation, or a community gathering space. While this blog highlights a select group of projects with certifications or standout sustainable strategies, the principles behind them inform all of our work.
Here are a few standout projects that demonstrate how we’re shaping a more sustainable future:
2 Doughboy Square
WELL Gold
Our own Pittsburgh office is a living example of our values. Achieving WELL Gold certification, the space promotes holistic wellness through natural materials, biophilic design, enhanced indoor air quality, and access to outdoor space—all while prioritizing sustainable building practices and energy performance.
CCAC’s Center for Education, Innovation & Training
LEED Silver
Located in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, this innovative center sets the bar for sustainable academic spaces. Beyond meeting LEED Silver standards, it incorporates stormwater management strategies, reduced potable water use, energy-efficient systems, and abundant natural light. It’s a place designed to nurture minds while protecting natural resources.
The Carina
Passive House Standards
This adaptive reuse project transformed the historic B’nai Israel Synagogue into a near net-zero, all-electric residential community built to Passive House standards. Sustainability features include rooftop solar panels, reclaimed insulation materials, and an energy-recovery ventilation system that enhances indoor air quality. The building is fossil-fuel free and received Enterprise Green Communities certification.
