Oakmont Bakery has seen constant exponential growth since opening its doors in 1988. We partnered with them to design a building to adapt to their ever-increasing need for space. The end-result is a modern and monochromatic experience where the fanciful array of bakery colors take center stage.
Create a plan that works.
The team spent extensive time learning about the baking process and meeting with the client in order to get a better understanding of how the space would function.
Giving form to vision
The project planning process involved round table discussions with the owner, the consulting team, and a food service consultant to make sure equipment needs were being met
Working out the details
Meetings with the owner and the bakery staff directly influenced the end design. We applied the sketch concept into a 3D format and worked closely with all members of the team to make sure we were achieving a functional design.
Building your vision.
The project was constructed with PW Campbell. Cost-saving measures were considered throughout the construction process as well as the need to provide additional space for front doors and a vestibule area to accommodate an influx of customers.
Maximizing your investment
The new building provides Oakmont Bakery more capacity and efficiency to serve their ever-growing clientele, while also new amenities including a café. It’s also been named the “Best place to buy happiness,” according to Pittsburgh’s City paper.
