The Bridge on Forbes is an urban living experience for both students and professionals that pays homage to the past, present, and future of Pittsburgh. Andy Warhol’s Flowers painting is showcased in the lobby in juxtaposition with Pittsburgh symbolism. Exposed beams, concrete floors, and metal were used throughout the space to create a mixture of hometown spirit and industrial warmth.
Create a plan that works.
The design challenge was to fit in as many apartment units as possible to meet budgetary goals for the client, while maintaining a high level of design and providing generous amenities spaces.
Giving form to vision
Our goal for this project was to effectively and efficiently work within the community and space constraints to meet budgetary guidelines while maintaining the original integrity of the design.

Working out the details
Challenges throughout this project were heavily influenced by our goal to constantly foster healthy relationships between contractors, owners, and consultants. It’s our mission to cultivate strong alliances in the design communities that we create.
Building your vision.
Height constraints were a significant factor in the planning and construction of this building. We utilized a unique structural system called DELTABEAM to build an extra floor while staying within the confines of the maximum permitted building height.

The Bridge on Forbes was designed with students and professionals in mind. Several resident spaces were created to foster a sense of community while offering residents places to meet for study, discussion, and relaxation.
