Shelby Weber began her career with Desmone in the fall of 2014 after graduating from La Roche College with a bachelor’s in Interior Design and a minor in Sustainable Studies. Of her time here, Shelby says, “as an interior designer in a multidisciplinary firm, it has helped me learn the design process from an interior, architectural, and business standpoint.” Shelby assists in the planning and completion of commercial and residential projects, creating holistic designs based on current trends and client objectives. She works closely with project managers, coworkers, and vendors in implementing design and details. Recent undertakings include a student-friendly renovation of the library/learning commons of Edinboro University to create new programming for student learning – increasing social and academic areas for student learning and establishing design solutions conducive to student retention.
Shelby was named “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges 2013 and 2014”, received the La Roche College President’s Leadership and Scholarship Nomination, and was inducted into the La Roche College Honors Program for Honors in the Department of Interior Design. When not working Shelby has a passion for using design as tool to help community development and social awareness, involved in many organizations such as the Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania, American Society for Interior Designers (ASID), and the Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH). Along with overcoming challenges, collaboration and helping others succeed, Shelby derives great satisfaction from “affecting the built environment and the way people experience a space.”
