Desmone is pleased to introduce our newest team member, Michael Zielachowski. Mike is joining our Residential Studio as a Senior Designer with over 20 years of experience. Originally from Eastlake, Ohio, Mike attended the University of Cincinnati and pursued a Bachelor Degree in Architecture. Through this degree, Mike had the opportunity to intern and study in San Diego and the southwest. This experience developed his appreciation for the southwest and inspired him to move to Scottsdale, Arizona. Throughout his 14 years with an architecture firm in Arizona, Mike managed over 50 projects in a variety of styles – from small addition-remodels, to 10,000+ sq. ft. homes with budgets up to $5 million. After 14 years out West, Mike decided to return back to the Pittsburgh region to be closer to his family (and the love of the Pittsburgh Steelers helped too).
Mike is excited to help grow the Residential Studio here at Desmone Architects. Becoming an architect was never a question for Mike, “Since I was young; I would spend my free time creating floorplans and constructing blocks into buildings,” he says. One of the things Mike loves about residential work is that the experience is much more personal for the client. Mike goes above and beyond on all projects to ensure that his clients are happy in their home. When Mike is not at Desmone, he enjoys doing Crossfit, going to concerts, and exploring the city with his wife and their 2 rescue dogs.
