Jeffrey Wessel

Another Kent State University alum has joined the team at Desmone! Jeffrey Wessel, who graduated in 2007 and holds a bachelors degree in Architecture, joined Desmone Architects in July of 2013. While in school, Jeff studied abroad in Florence, Italy and in 2006 he won the Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design Integrated Design Competition. Of his education, Jeff says, “My favorite classes in college were my Landscape Architecture courses. I liked how they focused on the overall context and how all the project elements, new and existing, are integrated together. They also focused on how to use a nontraditional methodology and apply it to what is typically seen as a standard straightforward problem.”

Jeff was brought on as a Project Designer and has easily jumped right into some of our larger ongoing projects. His favorite phase is Construction Administration, saying, “To me the most rewarding part of a project is watching all the team’s hard work come together and actually seeing the project become a reality.” He goes on to explain, “To me, design and architecture is something that should be treated as a truly collaborative process. The best way to make a project successful is for everyone involved to work together, from the client to the design team to the consultants and ultimately, the end users.”

Jeff currently lives in the Cranberry area with his wife, Megan and their dog, a German Sheppard/Pit Bull mix, Kacy. When not at the office, he is probably doing something active like playing hockey or traveling. “I love to travel and try and experience new things that we don’t have in Western PA. Trying something new like surfing or eating like a local helps expand my perspective of the world and see things from new angles.”
