Native to the Pittsburgh area, Abbey Burton joined Desmone shortly after receiving her MA in Architecture from Kent State University in 2015. Prior to that time, she studied abroad in Florence, Italy and was selected as a finalist in the Kent College of Architecture and Environmental Design’s fourth year Capstone project. She received her B.S. in Architecture from Kent State University in 2014.
Since joining Desmone, Abbey has been part of a variety of projects, ranging in size from single family home renovation to the conversion of the former Macy’s building in downtown Pittsburgh. Her responsibilities include the creation, development, and coordination of BIM projects. Abbey works alongside Project Managers to conduct research and disseminate information to both the design team and Owner. She has experience with multi-family, industrial, residential, and office building typologies.
“Even though I was hooked on Legos as a kid,” Abbey truly found her calling during an elective technology course in high school, where “I connected with the ability to transform an idea into physical form.” When not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, including hiking and recreational sports. She’s also an adamant fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins!
