Aaron Kulik is a designer at heart. In his own words, “I am an interior designer that grew up in an upholstery shop. If you ask me my heart is held together with thread, glue and upholsterer’s tacks.”
Aaron’s career path started over 20 years in his father’s upholstery workshop. Before joining the Desmone family, Aaron worked for the Kossman Development Company (KDC) designing Pittsburgh’s commercial, retail and residential properties. Before joining KDC, Aaron was the retail store designer for Giant Eagle supermarket. Aaron is an alumnus of Arizona State University’s (ASU) Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts – School of Design Innovation and was named the school’s Outstanding Graduate in 2006. Aaron has also earned degrees from Stayer University and Pittsburgh Technical Institute (PTI).
Aaron proudly served 8 years in the United States Navy. Aaron spent 5 years on the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) and his last few years in the service were spent at the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) as a photographer. Aaron’s service allowed him to nurture a love of photography, allowed him to see some of the world’s great architecture and to gain valuable life experience or as he likes to call it “sea stories.” When asking Aaron what inspires him, he responses with “There is the voice of my father always in the back of my head saying, “If you are going to do something, you should always do your best.” That is what pushes me every day… There isn’t anything magical or deep, I come from a working-class family, I find inspiration in the satisfaction that I try every day to do my best. I don’t succeed every day, but that is okay, pick yourself up and try again. “
Aaron currently lives in Greensburg, Pennsylvania with his wife and their French bulldog. In his off-time Aaron enjoy photography, hiking & downhill skiing, tattoo inspired art work along with spending time with family and friends.
