Desmone was hired to transform an unusable existing basement with low ceilings and mold, into a climate-controlled wine Cellar to house the owner’s private collection. Two distinct areas were designed: one area consists of 268 SF of climate controlled space for 3,000 plus bottles of wine; the other area is 132 SF for glasses, liquor, other beverages and a humidor. The entire cellar has cork flooring. The walls are painted stucco with areas of natural terra cotta stone veneer. Light fixtures are copper finish. Oil-rubbed Hardware and Hammered copper sink add warmth and interest to the project. A local artisan handcrafted all the mahogany cabinets, the table, the humidor.
