Due to the limited availability of City-owned facilities, Pittsburgh was housing three major components of its Police Department in separate buildings in different areas of the city. Desmone Architects was selected as part of a development team to program and design a new facility to combine the Administration, Investigations, and Evidence Storage branches of the Department into a new Police Headquarters.

The new facility, completed at the end of 2003, occupies a renovated former bottling plant and warehouse, which are joined together by a new two-story structure containing the entrance to the building, lobby, public spaces, and vertical circulation. The building has 80,000 square feet of space and is the located on the historic North Side of Pittsburgh.
